Around six months ago with an eighteen month old toddler, we realized that we were desperately missing couple time, and we decided to do something about it. We had always thought it would be cool to try ballroom dancing and it seemed like the perfect time to try it.
We found DanceSport Carolina online and made an appointment for our first complimentary lesson. After just one lesson, we decided that this was indeed the activity we needed and wanted. The experience has been everything we hoped it would be. We were a little hesitant about dancing in front of others at first, but with the relaxed and friendly atmosphere we don’t even think about it anymore.
Elizabeth, our private instructor, has been very flexible in working with our schedule. Consistently finding a babysitter is a challenge, but Elizabeth has worked hard to help us keep from missing our weekly lesson.
All of the instructors are always positive, upbeat and encouraging. The private lessons allow us to focus on learning and improving our dancing. The group lessons and dances lets us continue learning, but also gives us a chance to socialize and practice what we have learned.
With the hectic and busy schedules of working parents we can really say that our experience at Dancesport Carolina has fit perfectly into our lives. We now have an outlet for exercise, socializing and, best of all, a chance to have date nights again! We look forward to it every week!

Latin dancing has been my passion for as long as I can remember. Its rhythm is part of my heritage and it is through this heritage that I find the most vigorous and creative energy for me as a person. Any rhythm you can name emanating from the Latin kind, salsa, mambo, rumba, bolero, cha-cha, amongst others, is an essential part of my rich cultural background. However, my experience at DSC has opened my eyes, mind and heart to a whole new world of professional Latin Dancing.
From the moment I first entered the studio, I was impressed with the caliber and professionalism of the staff. They are professional in all aspects of their teaching and interaction with the students. Apart from being professional, however, there is also that personal touch and connection which makes the learning experience much more enjoyable and fun.
This is the first time ever that I’ve taken professional dancing lessons and I’m very fortunate to have found DSC. More specifically, however, I owe my accomplishments to date to Elizabeth’s dedicated and personal coaching.
Not only is Elizabeth an exceptional instructor, but she is patient, extremely encouraging and a great role model. Her love and passion of dance permeates through her every move and pushes me to do well. Elizabeth is highly motivating and keeps the energy alive in class so that I’m able to accomplish as much learning as possible during our time together. My classes are exciting and challenging, and inspire me to reach levels of ability I never thought I could achieve.
DSC it’s about giving students a sense of confidence, integrity, while teaching students the techniques of proper dancing. Words cannot begin to describe how much I’ve enjoyed dancing at the studio. For anyone who may be contemplating joining in for the first time or advancing their skills, I highly recommend working under the careful supervision of Tom and Elizabeth. They will work with you so that you accomplish your goals and objectives.
DSC is a place where you make friendships and be yourself without worry. It truly is an exceptional experience! I can’t wait till my next class.
