SOCIAL DANCING
Social dances are the types of dances that you may see at a nightclub, wedding, Christmas party, on a cruise, etc. The most common include the Swing, Shag, Salsa, Waltz, Cha Cha, Rumba and Foxtrot. A person that can comfortably dance these will rarely find themselves sitting a dance out! Good social dancers are always looked upon as being fun and sophisticated people. Couples that can dance well together are often seen as romantic and classy! It's important for singles and couples, as well as teens, to know how to dance. Dancing is an essential part of life that is unfortunately missing from our society. Confidence and fun in social dance situations is just a few lessons away!
COMPETITIVE DANCING
If you want to be a really good dancer... then you've come to the right place! DanceSport Carolina offers expert instruction in more advanced dances like the Samba, Paso Doble, Jive, Viennese Waltz and Quickstep! Competitive Ballroom & Latin dancing, called "DanceSport" demands a higher degree of skill and technique. However, our extensive competitive dance experience allows us to get most DanceSport Carolina students ready for their first competition 3-6 months after their first lesson! In addition, DanceSport Carolina is affiliated with the Southern Paradise Ball, a national Ballroom & Latin dance competition held here in Charlotte every May.
