ABOUT US:

Professional Ballroom & Latin champion dancer Thomas Malvasia, established DanceSport Carolina in 2005 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since then, DanceSport Carolina has become the leader in Ballroom & Latin dance studios in the Charlotte area. His innovative business ideas combined with world class dance training have set DanceSport Carolina apart from all the others in a very short time.

Originally, DanceSport Carolina was to be a studio focused on high level competitive Ballroom & Latin dance. However, as soon as it opened students wishing to learn social dance began to flood into the studio because of its excellent reputation.

Today, DanceSport Carolina contains a fun and exciting mixture of high level dancers and casual social dancers of all levels and ages.

In 2008, Thomas started The Southern Paradise Ball, a Ballroom & Latin dance competition held at the Ballantyne Resort. This dance competition was immediately picked up on a national competition circuit, making DanceSport Carolina the only dance studio in the Carolinas that owns its own national dance competition.

After many successes, the DanceSport Carolina world expanded again in 2009 with the addition of our second studio location in the Lake Wylie/Ft. Mill area. This new, upscale part of Charlotte is the perfect spot for another DSC!
